The Ngahinapouri School Take a Kid Fishing Contest was run over the weekend of the 6th & 7th of December. Event organiser Jan Thomas said the 'competition went really, really well and that everyone was astounded at the amount of prizes over $7000, (everyone got something) and the competition is the talk of the community'. There were 132 anglers and 124 fish weighed in.
