We of the Whakatane Surf Casting Club wish to invite your club to our Snapper 1000, to be held on the 26th to 27th September 2009. This is an invitational event only and is for club invites only. It is an overnight competition Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning. As this competition is invite only it means that you the fishermen will be competing against other clubs and top surfcasters, not the general public. Because we are all dedicated fishermen and know and respect the environment it takes away the butcher aspect and therefore we will not have to worry about dune damage, Etc. Professional people with a sporting attitude and therefore we do not need Marshall’s. Top Prize will be $1,000 cash and other Substantial prizes. Snapper is the target species and this time of the year is the best for our waters, Enjoy The Great Bay of Plenty, Kick off the Snapper season with a Fat Pinky in the bin and take home some cold folding Cash. Entry will be $15 per rod maximum 2 rods and all entries must be in by the 19th September 2009 through the club secretary with competitor’s names and payment. Team section will be minimum two people and maximum four people, $5 per person. We will accept late entries but will incur a late fee and must accompany proof of belonging to one of the invited clubs. Our Competition will not be cancelled and if bad weather persists then we will use our alternative venue, Ohiwa Harbour.
