Fishingcompetitions.co.nz was born out of the need to showcase New
Zealand's numerous fishing competitions and tournaments. Many competitions
are run by small fishing clubs and organisations that cannot afford
to promote their contests to the wider audience .
Fishingcompetitions.co.nz aims to get small and large competitions
online and into the homes of the thousands of fisherman across the
country. Exposing the competitions to a larger audience will boost
participation, which in turn will attract more sponsorship leading
to more prize money and more fun for all involved.
Placing competitions and tournaments online means that once localised
competitions and tournaments become national and even international
events with potential participants accessing more information that
ever before.
So who came up with the idea to create fishingcompetitions.co.nz?
Its was Scott Brownhill, a West Auckland based fisherman and web developer.
Scott saw a need for a central point of contact that would allow competition
and tournament organisers to communicate information with potential
participants.
Scott Brownhill has had 5 years web
development experience and a lifetime of fishing giving him
the perfect mix to develop fishingcompetitions.co.nz. Scott
grew up fishing with his father on Auckland's Hauraki Gulf,
also spending time fishing on Waiheke Island and the Coromandel
Peninsula. Now a resident of West Auckland's Titirangi, Scott
ventures out to the Manukau Harbour in search of his fishing
fix. Scott's favourite fishing location is Kuaotunu in the Coromandel
(where he caught this excellent snapper from the rocks).
Scott currently works as a senior web developer for a leading
email marketing company. Previously Scott was involved in development
services for events management and CRM applications.
